The retreat had the theme as ‘Middle Managers as Catalysts for Excellence and Innovation,’ with the target for future leaders.
According to him, the training brings together middle-level officers considered crucial to the Council’s growth and operational effectiveness.
The CEO explained that the initiative aligned with the Council’s Strategic Plan 2025–2029 and prepared officers for higher responsibilities.
Akutah said, “The retreat is more than a training programme. It is an investment in leadership development”..
He emphasized that it would strengthen succession planning, institutional capacity, and the future of the organisation.
He stated that middle managers bridge policy formulation and execution across the Council, adding that their ability to implement strategies effectively would determine the organisation’s success.
The training, he said prepared officers for roles as Assistant Directors, Deputy Directors, and Directors.
Part of the programme was the unveiling of a new Retreat Governance and Performance Management Policy, which seeks to ensure retreat resolutions produce measurable institutional results and improved outcomes.
