NSC Commissions North Central Coordinating Office, Says Jos Dry Port to Be Ready Q1 2022

The Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) weekend assured that the Jos Dry Port would be revitalized and energized ready for use early next year.
Precisely, the Council which commissioned its North Central Coordinating Office complex in Jos, Plateau state on Friday said the dry port would be ready by first quarter of 2022.
Executive Secretary of the Council, Mr Hassan Bello said when completed, the dry port would be of big advantage to shippers who are into export and import businesses.
Bello said the dry port would be of multiplier effect to the economy by adding value in terms of increased commerce and job creation.
He explained that the new office is dedicated to the upliftment of International trade, shipping and transportation.
This, he said, would benefit the “ever ebullient and effervescent private sector of Jos and environs, the families of Chamber of Commerce, manufacturers Associations, importers, exporters, shippers- farmers, processors, miners and transporters- creators of wealth.
Bello commended the efforts of the Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi and the Plateau State Governor Mr. Simon Bako Lalong on their support to make the Jos Coordinating office a reality.
Bello said in his speech, “Gov, Lalong was the first Governor to visit the NSC Office to discuss the development of the Jos Dry Port. He is frank, patriotic and scientific. He believes in strong economic pluralism of his State. He believes that the Jos Dry Port is an economic investment, a catalyst for employment and an avenue to place the state on the global map of export.Gov. Lalong is an economic friendly Governor. He is a friend of the Council.His doors are always open to us; I have the privilege of having unfettered access to him, especially in Abuja. I am humble to enjoy sharing his vision, his dream for Plateau State and Nigeria.The product of these discussions, sometimes presided over by the Minister of Transportation is that the Jos Dry Port will be revitalized and energized. We sincerely hope that it would be completed by 1st Quarter of 2022.The Minister and the Gov. of Plateau state are close friends. Political allies, and I dare say economic collaborators. They think alike, professionally. They are both resourceful and patriotic. They have this appetite for building infrastructure and creating opportunities for employment.Gov. Lalong I thank you”
The NSC CEO also disclosed that the Council plans to build an international resource centre which will cost ₦15,000,000.000 in Jos.
He described the centre as a massive but magnificent monument that will include a 5 star Hotel, shopping mall, restaurant, Multipurpose halls, Conference centre (automate) with a capacity of 2,500 people.
“This project will be delivered through Public Private Partnership and supported at all times by the NSC. This zone, this state, this city deserves no less than this. I am sure I will find support from the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Plateau State Government and the private sector”.
The new office complex was commissioned by the Minister of Transportation and assisted by Governor Lalong.
Among those who witnessed the commissioning were the Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Directors of FMOT, the GBONG GWON Jos, the Chairman of Plateau State Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba.
