For the Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), it is a time for celebration.
This is because the Command ended the year with good revenue record, collecting a revenue generation of ₦15.59 bn in 2025. This was the highest so far in the history of the Command since establishment.
In a press statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Tunde Ayagbalo, the Command generated a cumulative revenue of ₦15,598,945,794.00 between January and December 2025.

This figure, according to the statement, represents a 117 per cent rise compared to the ₦7.16 bn collected in 2024.

The Command recorded the sum of ₦3.63 bn in December being the highest monthly revenue ever collected by the Command.

This was attributed to the effective implementation of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative introduced by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
This was said to have enhanced coordination among agencies and therefore improved trade facilitation as well as strengthened engagement with stakeholders.
The Command also recorded successful anti-smuggling operations with the interception of 685 parcels of Cannabis sativa, 495 packs of Tramadol, and 2,000 packs of Super Power Sildenafil tablets during intelligence-led operations, enhanced patrols, risk profiling and inter-agency collaboration.
The Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, has continued to warn that smugglers will face the wrath of the law if they remain in their illicit activities.
Adenuga also warned that apart from seizures, suspects caught would be prosecuted, adding that the operatives of the Command use advanced intelligence, technology and unwavering vigilance.
On the impressive record, he commended the stakeholders, including sister agencies, security operatives and the media for their cooperation.
Adenuga promised that the command will record greater achievements for the year 2026.
