Oyo/Osun Customs Command Records N2.7bn Seizures in One Month

After one month of assuming office, the Acting Controller of Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Dep Comptroller Wale Adewole, has recorded seizures worth N2.7bn.
The Controller also said the Command also collected the revenue of the total of ₦8,374,471,941.10k.
Among the seized items were 2,234 bags foreign rice, 1112 pieces of tyres, 562 kegs of PMS, tramadol, used shoes, cars and foreign spaghetti.
Adewole told newsmen that the items were intercepted at various flashpoints across the Command’s Area of Responsibility through credible intelligence, sustained patrols, and strategic enforcement operations.
On revenue he said, “In the area of revenue generation, the Command collected the revenue of the total of ₦8,374,471,941.10k (Eight Billion, Three Hundred and Seventy-Four Million, Four Hundred and Seventy-One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty-One Naira, Ten Kobo) for the month of December 2025. However, it is worthy of note that the Command’s surpassed the Revenue target of the year 2025; ₦86,297,581,081.00k (Eighty-Six Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety-Seven Million, Five Hundred and Eighty-One Thousand, Eighty-One Naira Only) with a Revenue Target Surplus of ₦13,135, 424, 793.29k (Thirteen Billion, One Hundred and Thirty-Five Million, Four Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Three Naira, Twenty-Nine Kobo) resulting to a 15.22% increase in the year 2025 revenue target. This reflects on improved compliance, effective monitoring, and the commitment of officers to lawful trade facilitation”.
He restated that the Oyo/Osun Area Command remains committed in its zero-tolerance against smuggling and other forms of economic disruption.
“We will continue to collaborate with sister security agencies and engage stakeholders to achieve our shared objective of national economic security.
“ I also wish to caution smugglers and unpatriotic elements to desist from illegal activities, as the Command will not relent in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities”
He appreciated the Governor of Oyo State; Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde for his unwavering support towards achieving our set goals and all stakeholders for their compliance and stance in ensuring the Command achieve set objectives while also appreciating the press for their timely dissemination of information to the general publics “.
He equally commended Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for his leadership and support.
