NPA Wins 2023 Maritime Cup

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Friday defeated the squad of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to win this year’s 2023 football match edition of the Maritime Cup.
The authority won by 5-4 in a keenly contested football match.
The NPA team during the first half of the game was 1 goal down before equalizing at the end of the 90 minutes of the game.
The game later resulted into penalty kicks which came to an end in favour of the landlord of the ports.
This was the third time NPA won the Maritime Cup. It won the cup in 2018 and 2022.
The annual Maritime Cup is organized by Ships & Ports Newspapers.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ships & Ports, Dr Bolaji Akinola, commended 15 companies and agencies that participated in the exercise.,
According to him, teams that took part in the game had “excellent organisation and officiating” .
He was quoted saying, , “The maritime industry is very proud of the outcome of the tournament. We are one big happy family in the maritime industry and I am happy that the Ships & Ports Maritime Cup has become a platform for uniting the industry.”
