The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Dr. Akutah Pius, MON, is happy with the performance of the Public Relations Department of the agency, and has appreciated the team for doing a good job.
Akutah was full of praises to the Department for impressive performance during the agency’s Public Relations Retreat under the theme, “Building, Strategic Planning, Sharing Ideas to Stay Ahead of Competition”, which was held in Lagos last week.
According to the CEO of the ports economic regulator, the theme was in line with the agency’s current moves to transmute to the Nigerian Port Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA) in which the organization will be creating effective regulations in the seaports.

Akutah pointed out that already the Council is known for the good role it has been playing in the nation’s maritime sector, adding that its target is for bigger responsibilities in the industry.
He urged the Council’s PR Unit not to relent in its impressive performance, saying that moving forward, the team should demonstrate greater commitment.
Akutah assured of his readiness to support the training and retraining of the staff of the PR department to achieve optimal execution of their responsibilities.
In his remarks, Head, Strategic Planning & Research Department of the Council, Mr. Rotimi Anifowose, urged the staff of the Department to ensure self-development as Public Relations practitioners.
He also called on the staff of the Department to be more responsive in the management of the reputation of the Council.
In her response, the Head of the PR Department, Assistant Director, Rebecca Adamu, said the Unit was full of gratitude to the CEO of the Council for attending the programme and appreciating the staff of the Department.
Adamu thanked the NSC CEO for making inspiring remarks about the PR Department.
She equally expressed appreciation to the CEO and other management staff of the agency for their support in ensuring the retreat was held.
