FG to Flag-off Distribution of Free Meters to 30 Million Consumers Today
The federal government will today begin distribution of free electricity meters as part of the the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP).
The programme is targeted at ensuring that 30million electricity consumers benefit from the exercise.
A source told newsmen that the scheme will be launched today in Kano, Kaduna and Ikeja, Lagos franchise areas.
The distribution, the source said was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to end the era of estimated billings through mass distribution of prepaid meters.
