Customs Denies Duty Reduction on Imported Vehicles

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has said that contrary to some claims by customs agents, it has not reduced duty payable on imported vehicles from 35% to 20%.
The Public Relations Officer of the Customs, Timi Bomodi said that so far the duty rate of 35 percent was what is prevailing.
Bomodi maintained the claim on duty reduction was simply a mix-up, but said it would be sorted out on Monday.
It would be recalled that some customs agents had claimed that the Customs had reduced duty on vehicle.
