NDLEA Seizes 22,160kg Codeine at Apapa Port

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized
22,160 kilograms of Codeine syrup, Methamphetamine and Skunk at Apapa port.
The agency also seized other drugs during raids by operatives at Akala, Mushin, Lagos.
In a statement by the agency, a total of 14,080kg codeine syrup (8,080 litres) and 4,352.43kg cold caps which were used to conceal the items were seized.
The items in a 40ft container were imported from India and seized last week Apapa port.
Another drug, Cannabis/Loud/Skunk imported from Ghana and Methamphetamine weighing 3,727.72kg were seized during a raid at Akala, Mushin.
During the exercise, 17 suspects, among them five females were arrested last week Thursday.
The statement said that the seizure at Apapa seaport was as a result of intelligence from foreign partners.
