LAWMA Meets Apapa Residents, Calls for Clean Environment
The management of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) on Wednesday held a meeting with residents of Apapa where the issue of enthroning a clean environment featured.
Managing Director of LAWMA, Ibrahim Odumboni during the stakeholders meeting called on residents to ensure that their environment is kept clean.
Odumboni expressed dismay over the presence of dumpsites by residents, adding that this was a big environmental issue.
He called on the residents to constitute an environmental team who will check reckless disposal of refuse.
He requested for a transfer loading station to be provided by the Apapa Local Government where PSP operators can go and evacuate waste.
He also called on residents and shop owners to ensure prompt payment of waste bills, adding this would facilitate smooth running of operations of the PSPs.
