Customs Officer Mowed Dead, Another Missing, After Attack from Smugglers
A customs officer has been found dead while another missing after an encounter with smugglers in Ogun state.
The officer was said to have been mowed during an attack by suspected smugglers in Fagbohun village, Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The affected officers were part of the patrol team of the Federal Operating Unit (FOU), Zone A, who were attacked by smugglers.
The two officers were declared missing until the body of one of the officers was found in a River near Ajegun Iyaloosa village.
According to the FOU, Zone A Public Relations Officer, Theophilus Duniya, the dead officer was found without his rifle.
Duniya also said the second officer is still missing as at Wednesday.
He told newsmen that the incident occurred on Tuesday in the afternoon.
He said that the team was attacked when on patrol.
The PRO however said some suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of the customs officer.
