Kano: Customs Hands Over N200m Seized Drugs to NAFDAC
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Kano has handed over N200m worth of expired drugs to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC).
The drugs which were also unregistered were seized from smugglers.
The Controller of the NSC, the Kano/Jigawa Area Command Mr. Sulieman Pai Umar, told newsmen that the items were found in 185 cartons and handed over to NAFDAC.
The drugs were part of the seizures from the Command in the past three months.
Other items seized were 707 bags of 50kg of foreign rice with duty paid value of N20,503,000, and 155 bales of second hand clothes with duty paid value of N11,625,000.
The Controller also said 16 jerry cans of vegetable oil with value paid duty of N334,000; 130 spaghetti cartons with duty paid value of N1,950,000, and 231 cartons of macaroni with duty paid value of N104,000 were equally seized among others.
