We Plan to Employ 20,000 Graduates Annually with Our Job Initiative, Says Buhari

The federal government on Tuesday said that its job initiative under the title Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme is aimed at employing 20,000 graduates annually.
The employment opportunity will be for those who have recently completed their mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
According to the government, the new job initiative followed the five percent in economic growth reported recently by the National Bureau of Statistics.
President Muhammadu Buhari during the launching of the programme in Abuja said it would also give opportunity for mentors. Adding that those have experience in other industries and built capacity would provide mentorship for young Nigerians.
Buhari said was quoted saying, “Beyond the skills and work experience, we will be building a new culture of mentorship and guidance that can chart a new course for skills development and work experience in our country.
“We believe that as this programme creates new opportunities for 20,000 recent graduates annually, the beneficiaries will use the opportunities presented to them and maximise their 12 months of engagement.”
The programme is supported by the United Nations Development Programme and the European Union.
