We Spent N1.5tn on COVID-19 Management, Says Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Monday said the federal government spent as much as N1.5tn in managing the effects of COVID-19 in the country.
Ahmed disclosed this during a joint media briefing with the Information and Culture Minster, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Abuja.
The Finance Minister also spoke on the report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showing 5.01 per cent growth in the economy, adding that this shows that businesses have fully resumed after the pandemic.
She was of the view that the economy would maintain a five percent growth rate in the third quarter if necessary measures and policies were put in place in agriculture sector and other sectors.
