Open Grazing Should Be Dumped, No More in Vogue – Sokoto Governor

*Insists Nigeria does not need a parochial leader
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has joined many Nigerians canvassing against open grazing, describing it as obsolete.
Tambuwal was of the view that open grazing should be dumped as it is no longer in vogue.
Speaking on the topic “Security Challenges in Nigeria and its Implications for Sustainable Development”, on the occasion of the birthday celebration of the veteran journalist , Mr. Richard Akinnola, the governor said Nigerians need re-orientate themselves and live in modem realities.
He added, “I condemned and addressed this sometimes last year when I went to commission a project in Abia State.
“I said open grazing should be discarded as it’s no more in vogue. We need to re-orientate ourselves and live in modem realities.”
The governor who spoke on the type of leader the country needs said Nigeria needs a versatile leader who has friends and associates across the length and breadth of the country.
He added, “Nigeria needs a leader with a broad world view and not a parochial and provincial politician.
“We need an incorruptible leader, who understands that the best way to fight corruption is by personal examples and also by the building of strong institutions that can withstand shocks and manipulations.”
