Two Killed, as IPOD’s Sit-at-Home Order Paralyses Commercial Activities in S’East

The sit-at-home order by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was a huge success as streets, markets and motor parks in the South East were deserted on Monday.
The sit-at-home order was in protest against the detention and trial of the leader of IPOD, Nnamdi Kanu, by the federal government over allegation of treasonable felony.
Our Correspondents in Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi said residents obeyed the order by IPOD in which left most of the commercial cities in the states look like ghost yards.
In Anambra state, two people believed to be members of IPOD who had come out in the morning to enforce the order were said to have lost their lives as they were attacked and killed by unidentified uniformed security personnel.
It would be recalled that the Publicity Secretary of IPOD, Emma Powerful, had declared that every Monday in the South East will henceforth be a day of sit-at-home until Kanu is released.
According to the statement, all public and private businesses, transport companies,, banks, markets, schools and river ports must be closed every Monday over the continued detention of Kanu and others in various prisons.
All efforts made by some of the states to ensure that the sit-at-home protest did not hold failed as traders, workers and residents complied with the order.
