Seaman Slips, Dies on Board Tanker
A tragic accident occurred early in the morning May 4 in Algeciras waters, Spain, during crew change operation.
Suezmax tanker BORDEIRA was about to set sail after completing MB cargo operation, when sign-on seaman slipped from ladder during boarding, and fell in water, reports FleetMon online.
He was quickly picked up from water and transported to hospital, sustaining broken arm and with symptoms of hypothermia, but otherwise, displaying no life-threatening symptoms.
