The Captain of Italian container ship ITAL LIBERA got sick and died on board while the ship was in Indian ocean. This was during a scheduled trip from Durban South Africa to Singapore.
FleetMon reports that the sad news appeared on Apr 13, when the ship was approaching Malacca Strait. The ship was banned from entering Singapore, because the rumor was, he died from covid.
ITAL LIBERA had to sail to Jakarta, she anchored at Jakarta anchorage on Apr 19 and since then, remains anchored, because Indonesia like Singapore and prior to Singapore, Malaysia, refused entry, to allow Captain’s body transfer to Italy and carry out all the formalities.
