11 Filling Stations Shut in Abuja for Petrol Over-pricing
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Wednesday sealed 11 filling stations in Abuja over allegation of overpricing of petroleum products, manipulating of metering devices and diversion of the products.
DPR’s Zonal Operations Controller, Abuja, Mr. Abubakar Buba, who led his officials for the exercise said it was the only way to check various malpractices by filling stations.
Buba said the fillings stations were sealed within 24 hours as a deterent for those who want to sabotage the government in supply of petroleum products to motorists.
He said the DPR will continue to carry out checks on fillings stations to ensure that they sell at the right prices and stop hoarding of the products.
