FG May Ban International Flight over Rising Cases of New Coronavirus in Foreign Countries
The federal is contemplating placing a ban on international flight in view of rising coronavirus in some foreign countries.
The was disclosed by the Chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, on Monday when he announced a new Covid-19 advisory.
Mustapha said government has been discussing with aviation and health authorities, World Health Organization (WHO) over calls for to impose restriction of international flight.
He also said government has concluded arrangements with the Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure that it imposes sanctions on international travelers who breach public health protocols by ignoring post arrival test.
According to him, about 64,405 of the 163,818 inbound travellers captured on portal number failed to show up for post arrival test.
Meanwhile, civil servants below level 14 have been asked to remain at home in view of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
