43 Naval Personnel Abscond to Europe, Declared Wanted
No fewer than 43 naval ratings with the Nigerian Navy have deserted their jobs and absconded to Europe.
The action of the naval ratings was contained in a circular from the headquarters of Navy in Abuja, a source said.
The source said the photographs of the naval ratings were displayed at the headquarters as at Wednesday.
The circular enjoined anyone who has informtion about the whereabout of the ratings should report to the nearest naval office or police.
tHE SOURCE SAID that most of the ratings were serving on vessels on foreign missions before absconding.
They were suspected to have absconded to European counties where theire vessels berthed.
Part of the circular according to an inser reads, “Above are the Nigerian Navy personnel who have deserted from Service recently.
“Accordingly, you are pleased requested to assist in providing useful information that will lead to their arrest or you may apprehend any one of them when seen and handover to the nearest Nigerian Navy base or security station”.
Among the deserted officers as contained in the circular were S. C. Adiele, K. Armstrong, A. Hassan and G. Osazuwa, L.O. Chiegboka, E. S. Anthony, A. Yusuf, I. E. Brown.
