Boat Mishap Kills 19 Children in Kwara
About 19 children weekend died as a result boat mishap in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara State.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the children were going for a traditional wedding ceremony in Niger State when the sad incident occurred across the River Niger.
The boat which was conveying 22 children had capsized as it was crossing the river.
Incidentally, only four corpses were recovered from the River as at Sunday evening.
The Secretary of the Lafiagi Traditional Council, Sulyman Aliyu, who spoke to newsmen said it was difficult confirming the number of those who died in the mishap.
