We Shall Recommend Review of Lockdown to Buhari, Says SGF
*NLC warns of unrest if lockdown continues
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha has said that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 will recommend to President Muhammadu Buhari on extension or view of the four week lock-down on Lagos, Ogun and Abuja FCT.
Mustpaha said this would be after studying the report of the Director General of NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu and the World Health Organisation (WHO) representative in Nigeria.
He said the report will be used as the basis of any recommendation to the President.
The statement from Mustapha came as Nigeria recorded 91 new cases which brought the total number of cases to 873.
Out of 91 cases, 74 new cases came from Lagos, Katsina 5, Ogun – 4 Edo -2 Delta – 2, Kwara – 1, Oyo – 1, FCT – 1and Adamawa – 1,
However, Mustapha has explained that the rise in cases of coronavirus in Nigeria has been as a result of expansion in testing capacity
According to him, there has been an increase in house to hour testing in Lagos communities.
