Stakeholders to Discuss Apapa Ports Access Roads Decongestion Efforts, as Gridlock Continues
All is now set for the seminar on the assessment of Apapa access roads decongestion efforts, being organised by the League of Maritime Editors and Publishers.
The event comes up on Thursday, Dec 12 at 10am at Rockview Hotel, Apapa. It would be chaired by Barr. Hassan Bello, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council(NSC)
Several stakeholders have been slated to speak at the one-day event.
The theme of the event is : ” Sustainability of the Lagos Port Access Roads Decongestion efforts: A lasting solution.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the League, speakers at the event will be drawn from the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Presidential Task Force Team, the body of truckers and ,Dr. Eugene Nweke , former NAGAFF President, etc.
Worried by the perennial traffic gridlock on the APAPA Port Access Roads, the League of Maritime Editors decided as part of its contribution to nation building to organise this solution-finding seminar.
“We believe that the present poor state of the Apapa ports access roads, has no doubt, impacted negatively on the federal government’s target of achieving ease of doing business at the sea ports” Mr Kingsley Anaroke, League’s President stated.
“As stakeholders, we are all aware of the effects of the grid lock on all Port users, including government’s agencies, truckers, shipping companies, terminal operators, importers, freight forwarders and even residents of the Apapa area. “the president further stated.
A powerful communique is expected to be issued at the event.
