Smugglers Fleeing from Customs Crush Two to Death
It was a sad incident Tuesday as two people were crushed to death by smugglers who were fleeing from operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) at Ewekoro in Ogun State.
Eye witness account said the smugglers were carrying cartons of turkey in a bus when officials of the Customs sighted them and gave them a hot pursuit.
The bus had while moving into the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway ran over two people, including a vulcaniser at a roadside near Wasimi.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun state, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to newsmen.
The Ogun Customs Public Relations Officer, Mr Abdulahi Maiwadah could not be reached for his reaction on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
