Customs Boss, Adeniyi, Gets Tenure Extension by Six Months

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi by six months.
Adeniyi whose tenure was due to expire in August this year, will now remain in office till February, 2027.
The tenure extension was contained in a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga
The statement explained that President Tinubu approved the extension to enable Adeniyi complete key reforms started in the Customs Service since assuming office in 2023.
The statement also added that the extension will “enable him to consolidate the implementation of the National Single Window and ensure an orderly succession in the service.”
