New NSC Boss, Ukeyima, Resumes Duty, Calls for Team Work

The new Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barr Akutah Pius Ukeyima, on Wednesday resumed duties.
Ukeyima’s appointment was announced recently by President Ahmed Tinubu.
The new ES was received by the directors and other management staff on arrival at the Council headquarters.
Addressing workers, he expressed his readiness to work as a team as important to realize the core mandate of the Council under the marine and blue economy.
According to him, the NSC remains an integral part in achieving the success of the agenda set by President Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola on the marine and blue economy.
He said that it was the first time the federal government took a bold and pragmatic step in creating the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy after so much time spent on oil dependency.
With the new Ministry, he opined that the mandate of the Council has become more robust.
Noting that the Council has a lot of work to do, he said the personnel of the Council were highly knowledgeable, experienced and therefore equal to the task ahead.
Thanking members of the management team for the warm reception, Ukeyima assured that he will reward hard , adding, “sometimes, we don’t appreciate knowledge but moving forward, we will reward hard work.”
