ICPC Report: FG Kicks Off Probe of MDAs Over Ghost Workers

The federal government has started investigations into a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) which said that some Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are having ghost workers in their system.
The ICPC had in the report said that N49.9 bn was paid to the ghost workers between January and June this year.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kachollom Daju, told newsmen during an interactive session in Abuja weekend that the investigation has started.

Daju saidm “ investigations are ongoing, but I cannot tell you for certain what government will do at the end of it. All I can say is that the federal government is currently looking into it, not only the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment but all other ministries, departments and agencies that have been alleged to be part of what happened.”
The Permanent Secretary also disclosed that the federal government was setting up job centres in all the 774 local government areas in a bid to ensure job creation and reduce poverty.
