Founder and Life Member of the Board of Trustees of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, on Tuesday, berated the former Presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and his kwankwassiya group for what he described as their disturbing activities for about a year now.
Aniebonam at a press conference said that with the court order handing over the party to the BOT, the board of the NNPP has now taken over the party from Kwankwaso and his group.
“It is important to note that the party is now safely in the hands of its BOT and so characters like Senator Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, Ladipo Johnson long expelled from the party before the judgment cannot speak for NNPP but for their Kwankwassiya group which was part of us before the 2023 election but have long exited after the election”, he said.
“ We were curious about a week ago when the news of Senator Kwankwaso and Buba Galadinma withdrawing their case in Kano State High court against Dr. Aniebonam and other legitimate members of the party broke out. This was a case targeted at rewarding me with embarrassment despite the level of benevolence extended to them in my country home in Umuawulu in 2022 when they came to ask for my assistance to use the party platform for the 2023 election, a request I granted without any financial consideration or commitment instead I donated money for operational take off.”.
He accused Kwankwaso of being ungrateful for giving them the platform without asking for a dime from them.
Aniebonam disclosed that the BOT shall be meeting on November 8 to take specific decisions in accordance with the compelling order of the court.
He appealed to all members of the party all over the country to remain calm and law abiding in the face of extreme provocations of the Kwankwassiya agents of the party.
He advised elected senators , Honourable members of the House of Representatives, state House of Assembly to come to reach him in Lagos to take over their party.
