APMT Team Visits NSC, Receives Registration Certificate as Regulated Service Provider

Top officials of one of the leading terminal operators, AP Moller Terminals, weekend visited the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) as part of the efforts to strengthen ties between the two.
The courtesy visit was led by the company’s Vice President, Mr. Martijn Van Dongen who explained that the visit was to strengthen the collaboration with the port Economic Regulator.
The Executive Secretary of the NSC, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, had during the visit presented the team with certificate to operate as a regulated service provider.
The Legal Adviser and Head of Corporate Affairs of APMT, Chinenye Deinde had advised the NSC on the need to continue to pursue the National Transport Commission (NTC) Bill, stating that it will help in bringing sanity to the shipping industry.
Jime in response to the call pointed out that the NSC has been working for the review of the enabling Act as a way of strengthening the agency in its role as ports economic regulator.
Jime added that the federal government was committed in making the country an investment haven for foreign investors.
He said, “The strategic location of this country on the African continent makes it a trigger for investments”,
