Admonition for Professionals Demanding Honest Scale for Burden of Trust, Integrity

In the parlance of the World Trade Organisation ( WTO), under the business implications for Article 20 of the Agreed Customs Value (ACV)of the General Agreement On Trade and Tariff (GATT’94), it noted in its preamble, as thus:

a). The BURDEN OF PROOF rests on the shoulder of a an importer/exporter ( or his agent) when a proper valuation Customs Officer rejects a declared value of an import, thus demanding a further and honest value of the imports.

b). The BURDEN OF INTEGRITY is transferred and rests on the shoulder of the proper valuation Customs officer, when the Importer/exporter ( or his agent) has shown cause of proof.

The above background could be likened to a political or Organisational settings, where a leaders present themselves to serve or represent the people in a given electable political office.

The Burden of Proof rests on the electorates ( the led) to ensure that such leaders are elected into the canvassed offices through an enabling electoral processes.

In this wise, it is important to reiterate that the components of Burden Proof which usually forms the electorates ( the led) measurements standards falls within the action words, which includes: TRUST, EXPERIENCE, CAPACITY, COMPETENT, CHARISMA, etc.

However, the Burden of Integrity rests on the said Leaders to show Performance in the realm of holding the electorates Trust, exhibit strong Character in relation to Morality, Accountability, Transparency, prompt Listening Ears, etc.

Going forward, the essence of inferring to the WTO trade valuation treatment logic, is to bring to the fore that, professional leadership service or representations is more intellectually tasking and experience demanding unlike the conventional political office settings, where leadership excesses ( arrogance, sarcastic with words, unchecked temperamental, high-handedness, irresponsibility, etc) is seen as a norm.

Finally, in a professional setting being entrusted with leadership responsibility or position is not an allocation of title or entitlement, neither does suggest nor confer on you any iota of a “perfect or best leader” endorsement, rather it is a privilege beckoning for service to the professional colleagues. As such embracing or imbibing the spirit of servant leadership is apt.
