Second Niger Bridge Opens for Use Today
The Second Niger Bridge will today open to traffic.
The bridge will be open only to vehicles coming from the West to the East through Asaba, while work continues on the other side of the bridge.
The idea is to ease traffic during this period of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and officials of his Ministry had already carried an inspection of the bridge.
Delta State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bassey Esiet had warned that heavy duty trucks and trailers will not be allowed to use the bridge.
The arrangement is that from January 2, 2023, only vehicles coming from the East will be allowed to use the new bridge.
