NSC Boss Charges Lagos Shippers Association, as Ogamba Takes Over as President

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Hon Emmanuel Jime, has charged the newly elected executive of the Shippers Association of Lagos State (SAS) to work hard to ensure that the confidence reposed on them by members are fulfilled.
Jime gave the advice last week when the new executive led by Pastor Leo Ogamba was inaugurated.
Assuring the newly elected executive of SAS of the cooperation of the Council, Jime said the elected executive has a “big challenge to ensure that the association meets the aspirations for setting it up in the first place”.
He said that since “SALS is supposed to be the pacesetter shippers association in the country”, the new executive must strive to ensure that the association remains vibrant .
He said, “the Association has come a long way and happens to be one of the foremost shippers association in the country.
“I have been following your activities and wish to commend you for today ceremony considering the downturn of your activities in the recent past. I am aware of the challenges the association have been facing for some time now especially with respect to leadership, membership and ensuring that the expectations of your members are met.
“On behalf of the management and staff of the council, I urge you to work hard to ensure that the confidence reposed on you by members who found you worthy to be elected for the various positions you are occupying are met. Your call to service is sacrifice and you should carry along every member of the association in your day to day affairs.
“The Council will continue to support you as necessary and when the need arises to ensure you fulfill your mandate”.
Ogamba in his speech after the ceremony assured that the new executive will not disappoint members.
