NAGAFF President States Qualities of Incoming Chapter Executives, Says Association Spearheading Transformation

The National President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, has said that those aspiring to be chapter executives of the association are freight forwarders who are prepared to be part of the transformation agenda in the group.
Ezisi said this as the NAGAFF is planning for election of chairmen and other executives in the various chapters.
In a chat with SHIPPING DAY, the NAGAFF President said those who will be part of the new executives in the chapters will be those whose capacity for the transformation agenda in the association will not be in doubt.
He said such quality for capacity was necessary so that the association will continue to move to high heights.
He said, “Nagaff has its own standard, but under my watch, I try to look out for people with capacity. This coming election, I expect people with capacity to emerge. It will make the work easier for me and other national officers. It will also move the association forward”.
Ezisi said that before now some people did not believe in association, but added that things have started changing.
According to him, those coming onboard as chapter chairmen were seasoned freight forwarders who are in a good position to address issues affecting freight forwarders.
He said, “Before now why people don’t believe in association is because people at the helm of affairs don’t really get the job on their own, they depend on the association. But somebody like me, I am made before becoming association president. I get the job, I wear the shoe and know where it pains. The same thing for most of the people coming on board now. They are busy freight forwarders. They are constant with what is happening in the ports day by day. I expect a whole lot of changes, relief by the time I stabilize my chapters. I am of the very high hope concerning the election”.
On his achievements and promises made during his election, Ezisi said so far so good, adding that what was on now was transformation in the association.
He also said that having made a promise to have a befitting secretariat, he will ensure that it is achieved.
He said, “So far so good, a whole lot of transformation going on in the association and transforming human beings is very important. I have been able to transform so many. If you don’t transform them, you cannot work with them. I have been able to do that, more especially my finances, black and white. I am running a very transparent administration. If you wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me question on finances, I will ask you to go to the book, it is there”.
On the secretariat he promised, he said, “ we are working seriously, you know it is not an easy task but we have been inspecting properties with time we will get what we want or what our money will afford. And having in mind that I have friends who are close to me in one way or the other, when it gets to that point, I will beckon on them and I am sure they will respond. We will have a secretariat before I leave the seat as President of Nagaff. We will get a permanent secretariat”.
