Senate Passes Bill to Establish Transport University in Daura
A bill to establish a Transportation University in Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s home town, Katsina State, has been passed by the Senate.
The bill which was passed on Wednesday followed a report presented by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Ahmad Babba Kaita.
Kaita in his presentation explained that when established, the University will ensure capacity creation in the transport sector as well as close the gap in knowledge.
He also added that the University will also create job opportunities for Nigerians.
He described the University as the first of its kind in the West African sub-region, claiming that it would woo foreign investors to the country.
