*Will not return seized vehicles to elected board members

The era of vehicle allocation to members of the Governing Board of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) is over, a source close to the Council has said.
An impeccable source told SHIPPING DAY that only the Chairman of the Board and his Vice Chairman would be entitled for official vehicles.
The source disclosed that what the CRFFN will do is to also ensure that CRFFN board members who have official engagement would be provided official vehicles with drivers who will return such vehicles to the pool later.
The idea of allowing members of the board to take such vehicles to their homes and use as if personal vehicles will no longer be the case, the official said.
It was gathered that the last board members who had official vehicles did so by force as they were not officially allocated such vehicles.
The official said it was difficult for the Council to retrieve such vehicles, adding that the condition that the vehicles be returned as qualification for election was what made it possible.
It was gathered that following the warning all those interested in going for the election had hurriedly returned the vehicles under their possession.
Our source said that before the election, most of them had claimed that the vehicles were faulty and cannot be returned.
It was gathered that 15 of the returned vehicles are currently in the Ministry of Justice, Marina, Lagos and another two at a Police Station as CRFFN does not have space for the vehicles in their Lagos office.
There other vehicles in Abuja, Port Harcourt and other states.
