The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized UK and US bound 62.3 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa at the Lagos airport.
The agency also foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs into the country through the Lagos seaport.
In a statement on Sunday, the NDLE spokesman, Femi Babafemi disclosed that the drug traffickers had planned to export 73 parcels of cannabis (34.05 kilogrammes) to the Uk.
He said the drugs were concealed in plastic containers of food stuff and loaded at the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja.
According to him, the operatives of the agency also discovered another 50 parcels of cannabis consignment (27.25 kilogrammes) destined for the United States at the export shed of the airport on January 11.
Babafemi said three suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the drugs.
He said that the operatives of the agency were able to stop attempts by drug barons to smuggle 43.4 kilogrammes of cannabis indica into the country through the Tin Can Island port last week January 13.
The items, he said, were found in 40ft container from Canada.
The exhibits, he said, were concealed in a Toyota Camry car.
The agency operatives had earlier seized 59 parcels of Colorado (17.3 kilogrammes) which were concealed in a Mercedes Benz vehicle imported from Canada on January 11.
Among other items seized within the country were about 1.5 million tablets and capsules of Tramadol, Exol-5 and Diazepam.
