Expedition passenger ship MS FRIDTJOF NANSEN with 233 passengers and 165 crew on board reportedly ran aground early in the morning Jan 12 off Risoya islet, south of Maloy, Norway,
This was while en route from Honningsvag to Flam in Sognefjord, Norway, in stormy weather, reports FleetMon online.
It was probably, not as much grounding as bottom contact, the ship refloated by own means according to track, but reportedly, suffered hull breach, with controllable water ingress.
The ship sailed to Maloy, escorted by a rescue boat, and was berthed there at 0240 UTC Jan 12, divers are to survey underwater hull.
