Unknown Gunmen Kill Enugu Neighbourhood Watchman Chairman, Two Others
The people of Enugu Ezike in Igbo Eze Local Government Area of Enugu State were on Tuesday morning thrown into mourning as the Chairman and two operatives of the Neighbourhood Watch, a security arm in the area, were killed by unknown gunmen.
The unknown gunmen had attacked the operatives at 1 am at the local government secretariat in the town killing the Chairman identified as Mr Chinedu Urama and two others.
It was gathered that other security operatives of the neighbourhood watch were able to escape the attack with sustained wounds.
Sources said that the unknown gunmen had shot the late Chairman severally but the bullet could not penetrate.
To ensure that he was killed, the assailants decided to use iron to kill him.
The Neighbourhood Watch operatives have been responsible for security of all the communities in the local government area.
With the attack, the people of the communities in the local government have been thrown into apprehension over a possible invasion by unknown assailants.
