Nigeria Spends N40.9Tn on Imported Goods in 4Years, Records N4.22tn Exports

Nigeria has spent the sum of N40.9trillion on importation of various manufactured goods in the past four years.
The country also earned the sum of N4.22trillion on exportation of its goods to other countries.
The period was between January 2017 and March 2021 according to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics.
A breakdown showed that in 2017, Nigeria’s import bill was N4.57tn as against N285.23bn export earning; 2018 – N7.19tn as export earning of N575.8bn; 2019 – N11.94tn as against export earning of N2.07tn; 2020 – N12.71tn as against export bill of N960.7bn while in 2021 import bill as at first quarter was N4.53tn with export earning of N250.4bn.
