Virtues Expected of Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council

The Nigerian Shippers Council administration requires an astute administrator Per Excellence to drive forth its legislative and administrative policies.
The leadership virtues that mold up an astute administrator per excellence in order to thrive in a competitive industry with adequate operational pressure (such as ours) requires such ân industry administrator with the capacity to solving complex management and industry problems.
In this regards, the Nigeria Shippers Council requires an Executive Officer with the following virtues and capacities:
An Executive Officer who distinguishes self as a proactive administrator who places high value on objectivity.
An Executive Officer who is driven by sense of objectivity and not subjectivity, hence, his ability to look at any situation and appraise it critically, utterly devoid of emotions. this is indeed an essential quality of a successful Executive.
An Executive Officer who will always look at facts, not feelings, he looks at what is , rather than at what you would like things to be.
An Executive Officer who sizes up a situation coldly and analytically, weighing the facts without prejudice.
An Executive Officer who in spite of being a team player, can evolved and discover dynamic and formidable work force for the management.
Achieving such feat via being objective, prompt at evaluating an employee’s strength and shortcomings.
An Executive Officer who even in the face of negative reports about the employee’s or his personal feelings towards him or her exercises restraint and investigates before taking drastic action.
In this regards, an Executive Officer
shall never allow emotions to get in the way of his decision making and can encourages such subordinate and still create equal opportunities and enabling environment for all to excel in their career.
An Executive Officer who is purposefully and objectively driven administrator; may though like and think well for members of the staff, but would not let his office friendship to stand in the way of getting rid of such staff if it becomes necessary.
An Executive Officer that, posseses considerable brainpower required of a sound administrator; adding that to an inborn intelligence. Intelligence in this context, referring to his ability to think through a problem and come up with solutions.
An Executive Officer to that is apt in discovering among staff and industry players qualities needed to prosecute a project or drive the industry forward.
An Executive Officer with thinking ability that is in harmony with the type his office and time requires.
An Executive Officer whom both the heads of Government Ministries, lawmakers, captains of industry & players and co-head of agencies must appreciate and seen as an outstanding corporate savager.
An Executive Officer that inspires all, yet not as a Tarzan or superman but naturally a mortal individual whose peculiar talents flourish under sets of circumstances which he conquers with respect, love, objective, focus and commitment.
An Executive Officer driven by passion for an efficiency, consistent insistence for a transparent business friendly, competitive, predictable and proactive port industry.
An Executive Officer who appreciates the need to consult across the subregions and institute a sustainable port synergy among critical stakeholders.
An Executive Officer who also combines the basic necessity of outlining alternate courses which the management could safely follow to accomplish it’s set objectives. This requires diligence and courage.
An Executive Officer who shall not only be seen but referred to as a true team player and highly esteemed administrator not just acting the boss.
An Executive Officer who combines specialities/ hard-working with distinction and excellence in management outcomes.
