BREAKING NEWS: Nnamdi Kanu Arrested, Arraigned, Remanded in DSS Custody
The leader of the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has been arrested, arraigned and reminded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The order for the remand of Kanu was given by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja Tuesday.
This followed an application filed by Shuaibu labaran on behalf of the federal government.
The IPOD leader was said to have been intercepted by joint security operatives of the government.
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami told newsmen in Abuja at a press briefing that Kanu was arrested on Sunday.
He did not say where he was arrested during the joint press briefing with the Police and DSS.
Justice Nyako had in his ruling for the remand of the IPOD leader said the Prosecution should inform his lawyers of his rearrest.
The case was adjourned till July 26 for continuation of the trial.
It would be recalled that Kanu who was under trial had jumped bail in 2017.
He is being suspected as behind some of the violent attacks in the South East.
