Bulk Carrier from P’Harcourt Attacked by Pirates at Gulf of Guinea
A Cargo ship has been attacked by pirates 45 minutes after they appraoched the vessel at the Gulf of Guinea.
FleetMon reports that the ship could not be identified, but according to tracks, it looks like bulk carrier CP TIANJIN.
The ship was approached and she tried to evade pirates by changing course and increasing speed, but didn’t make it and was attacked 45 minutes later at around 1700 UTC Jun 6.
The vessel is some 220 nm south of Lagos, Ship’s AIS is off during last 10 hours as of 0330 UTC Jun 7, so probably, she was boarded.
CP TIANJIN is en route from Port Harcourt Nigeria to Santos Brazil. Ship’s ID and attack details aren’t confirmed yet, maybe calculations are wrong, waiting for confirmation, reports FleetMon online.
