Customs Rakes N799bn Revenue in 5 Months
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Monday said it has generated the sum of N799 bn revenues in the last five months of 2021.
The figure according to the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Joseph Attah, represents N226.1bn increase as against what was recorded during the same period last year.
Attah told newsmen in Abuja that the revenue generation was possible as the customs management implemented extant rules on imports, exports and collection of excise duties.
He added that the deployment of officers and automation of the processes helped in achieving the high revenue.
He also said that the good relationship between the customs and stakeholders equally contributed in the high revenue.
