Tanker Suffers Explosion, Fire in Engine Room
Tanker WISDOM, anchored off Banias, Syria, reportedly suffered fire in engine room in the afternoon May 9.
This was however quickly put out by the crew, according to FleetMon online report.
Muhammad al-Sousi, a director in the Syrian Company for Oil Transport, told the Syrian Arab News Agency that the explosions were caused by an engine malfunction.
“A technical failure occurred in one of the engines of an oil tanker anchored off the town of Banias, which led to a minor fire and the appearance of black smoke from the tanker,”
WISDOM hit the news on Apr 24 after she suffered explosion and fire in cargo tank during wielding works, 3 people died in that accident, described by many media as an Israeli missile or drone attack.
Every accident in Israeli and neighbouring States waters is a red alert for media, a probable terror attack or retaliation attack, leaving no place for typical accident or failure or malfunction…reports FleetMon.
