Bill Gates, Wife, Melinda Announce Divorce After 27 Years
American billionaire and co-founder of the Microsoft Corporation, Bill Gates and wife, Melinda, have announced an end to their marriage after 27 years.
The news about the divorce was contained in the official Twitter handle of Bill Gates Monday.
He posted, “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our marriage, we have made the decision to end our marriage. We no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
The post was signed by both of them.
The Billionaire said though divorced, both of them will continue to work together in their Foundation established the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000.
Bill Gates is among the richest men in the world worth $124 billion according to Forbes.
He resigned as CEO in January 2000 but remains the Chairman and Chief Softwar architect.
