Ekiti: 37 in EFCC Net over Internet Fraud
No fewer than 37 suspects have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) over allegation of internet fraud in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state.
The arrest followed a raid on Monday carried out by the Commission, the Head, Media and Publicity, Ilorin zonal office, EFCC, Ayodele Babatunde, said in a statement.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested in their hideout after the operatives obtained report on their criminal activities in the area.
Among those arrested were two brothers, identified as Dele and Tunde Dada, Segun Kazeem, Adepoju Pelumi, Jejelowo Segun, David Ojo, Sodiq Adetoye, Opeyemi Akiniyi, Michael Ekundayo, Victor Olujobi, Damilola Akinluyi , Attamah Hyauth, Ade Ajayi Tobi, Oyewola Adewunmi and Emmanuel Bello.
Others were Lekan Oyewole, Oso Opeyemi, Oluwaseun Temitope Ezekiel, Akinrodolu Sunday, Emmanuel Attah, Sunday Adedoyin, George Tobi, Odunayo Daramola, Olubola Olushola Sunday, Temitope Ayomide, Faboro John Oluwagbotemi, Ajibade Timilehin Emmanuel, Momoh Ranti Ajibade Seyi, Eniola Abdulbasit, Oreoluwa Ayuba, Christopher Olutobiloba, Samuel Ajayi, Abiodun Akeem, Tunde Orija, Ajila Ayodeji and Oyeleke Kehinde.
The EFCC had confiscated scores of vehicles, laptops, sophisticated phones and other items, the statement added.
The Commission said it will profile the suspects to determine their culpability in the alleged crime, adding that they will soon be charged to court.
