Bandits Hit Abuja, Kidnap 11 Persons in Orphanage

The attacks on some states in the North appear to be shifting to the Capital Territory (FCT) with the abduction of 11 persons in an orphanage in Abuja.
The bandits had attacked Rachael Orphanage Home in the Abaji Area Council at gunpoint.
Among the 11 persons kidnapped were seven orphans and four workers at 1.am on Saturday,
THISDAY report said those kidnapped were Jacob Ukpas, Melody Ijeh, Bernard Itim, Isaac Matthew, Elizabeth Andrew, Dayo Udeh and Laruba Emmanuel.
The abducted workers according to the report were Rukayyat Salihu, Suwaiba Momoh, Momoh Jimoh and the security guard, Joseph Matthew.
In reaction to the attack, the the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has launcehd a manhunt for the victims and abductors.
Police Public Relations Officer, Mariam Yusuf, was reported saying detectives have been deployed to rescue the victims.
States in the Northern part of the country have been a haven for bandits who have abducted hundreds of Nigerians for ransom.
Many Nigerians in some states in the North have also died as a result of the menace of bandits.
