FEC Approves N22bn Projects, N17.7bn for Ecological Projects
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a total of N40 billion for road projects and eclogical projects in the country.
A breakdown shows that N22 bn was for road construction in Yobe, Edo and Taraba States while the sum of N17.7 bn was for ecological projects in different parts of the country.
Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola who spoke to newsmen after the virtual FEC meeting said the sum of N14.528 billion for the construction of Gasamu-Hamshi-Gogoram road in Yobe State, N991.851 million was for the construction of a link road connecting Uneme-Tusamu-Odoga to Okpekpe in Etsako East Local Government Area, Edo State.
The sum of N6.397 bn was approved for the reconstruction of Mamabu-Donga road in Taraba.
The minister denied the allegation of diversion of N4.6 bn in Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, adding that he has written to explain what happened.
According to him, Ministers do not sign cheques, or disbure funds.
