Amaechi: Lekki Deep Seaport to be Ready for Commercial Operation in 2022

The Minister of Transportation, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, has given an indication that the Lekki Deep Seaport which is under construction would begin commercial opertion in the next two years.
Amaechi who spoke while inspecting the project at Itoke, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos said he was impressed with the level of work at the site.
He expressed optimism that the contractors handling the project would keep to the terms of agreement.
The Transport Minister assured that government plans to connect all the deep seaports in the country being constructed with rails.
He identified the deep seaports under Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement as Lekki seaport, Bonny seaport, Warri seapot Ibom seaport.
The Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, Mr Du Ruogang, gave his assurance that all measures would be put in place to ensure that the seaport begins operation in 2022.
